Great Reasons for Choosing Malta
Malta, Gozo and Comino enjoy some of the most beautiful natural settings imaginable as well as a great climate. Warm, dry summer days and balmy Mediterranean nights, plus stunning locations make Malta a real favourite. The spectacular waterfront at Valetta is one of the most iconic images of Malta, with its golden stone buildings dominated by the fortress, the old and new sit side by side. Visit the historic Inquisitor’s Palace or the Auberge de Castille, or take a trip in the super-fast, brand new Barakka lift, which links the Grand Harbour to the city centre. St. Julian’s, Sliema and Buggibi are all popular seaside resorts, and the sandy beaches and great nightlife are popular with a young, friendly crowd.
Relax and Get Away From It All
For a really relaxing holiday, Nadur on Gozo is an inspired choice. There’s lots of top class cheap accommodation in Nadur, and there’s a lot to see on Gozo. Much more laid back than Malta, the island is perfect for exploring some of the beautiful natural formations like the Azure Window and the Inland Sea at Dwerja. Boat trips taking in these and the famous Blue Grotto are available locally. Nadur means ‚lookout‘ and the town was the lookout for the famed Knights of St. John. Visitors can see the watchtowers, Ta‘ Sopu Tower, which was built by Nicholas Cotoner, a Grand Master, to watch over the two bays, at San Blas and Dahlet Qorrot, or the British built Ta‘ Kenuna tower, erected in the 1800’s as a link for telegraph communication between Gozo and Malta. Alternatively, just soak up the sun at some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, and enjoy local seafood and fresh produce at a variety of great restaurants. Cheap accommodation in Nadur is easy to find and it’s the perfect base for exploring Gozo, Comino and Malta.
Whether you want a lively holiday filled with beaches and nightclubs in St.Julian’s or Sliema, or whether you’re looking for glorious scenery in a relaxing setting like Nadur, Malta has it all.
